Palmarosa is a paste-the-wall wallcovering. The decorator should paste the wall and not the back of the wallcovering.
Important: Palmarosa is supplied untrimmed and requires installation using a double-cut, also known as a splice-cut, method. Professional installation is strongly recommended to ensure clean seams and the best finish.
Before Installation
- Ensure walls are dry, clean, smooth, and even.
- Remove old wallpaper, loose paint, and any unstable surface material.
- Roughen painted surfaces lightly with sandpaper before hanging.
- For best results, cross line the walls using good quality lining paper.
- Allow lining paper to dry completely before installing the wallcovering.
- Check the product carefully before cutting or hanging.
- Plan the layout carefully before installation, especially around corners, windows, doors, furniture, and feature areas.
Pasting and Hanging
- Use a good quality, solvent-free, fungicide-protected ready-mixed tub adhesive.
- Apply paste evenly to the wall, one length at a time.
- Paste an area slightly wider than the width of the wallcovering.
- Overlap the untrimmed edges as required and double-cut through both layers to create a clean splice-cut seam.
- Remove excess trimmed material carefully after cutting.
- Use a decorator’s brush to smooth the wallcovering from the centre toward the edges.
- Remove air bubbles gently as you work.
- Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints.
Important Notes
- Do not allow paste to come into contact with the printed or metallic surface.
- Keep hands clean and dry during installation.
- Paste may damage the surface if left on the wallcovering.
- If paste touches the surface, lightly sponge it while still moist using a clean damp sponge.
- Do not scrub the metallic surface during installation.
- If any defect is noticed during installation, stop hanging and contact the supplier before continuing.
Site conditions are beyond the supplier’s control. It is the responsibility of the buyer and installer to ensure the wall surface and environment are suitable before installation.
